Shopify Scripts are gone. Shopify stopped Scripts from being edited on April 15, 2026 and switched them off for good on June 30, 2026. If your store relied on them for tiered discounts, free gifts, hidden shipping rates or payment rules, that logic stopped running the same day. The supported replacement is Shopify Functions, and the move is a rebuild, not a copy and paste.

Every Script type has a home in the Functions model:

Line item Scripts become Discount Functions, or Cart Transform when the job is really a bundle.
Shipping Scripts become Delivery Customization Functions that hide, rename or reorder rates.
Payment Scripts become Payment Customization Functions that hide, rename or reorder methods.

Then we test the new logic against real cart scenarios, including the awkward ones: large carts, stacked discounts, international addresses. You see the behaviour is right before anything goes live.

Questions, answered

Do Shopify Scripts still work?

No. Shopify stopped allowing Scripts to be edited or published on April 15, 2026 and switched them off entirely on June 30, 2026. Any logic still living in the Script Editor stopped running that day.

What replaces each type of Script?

Line item Scripts map to Discount Functions, and to Cart Transform for bundles. Shipping Scripts map to Delivery Customization Functions. Payment Scripts map to Payment Customization Functions.

Do I need Shopify Plus to use Functions?

Functions inside public App Store apps work on every plan except Starter, but a custom app with your own Functions needs Shopify Plus. Scripts were a Plus feature, so most stores rebuilding them are already on Plus.

Will my discounts and rules behave the same after the rebuild?

That is the goal. We rebuild each rule as a Function and test it against real carts so behaviour matches. Often it gets faster and more reliable in the process.

What if I am not sure what my Scripts did?

That is common, especially now they have stopped running. We reconstruct each rule from your Script code if you still have it, or from past orders and promotions if you don't, and document it before rebuilding.
