Shopify’s own Checkout Blocks app handles standard banners, content and simple rules without code, and for many stores that is the right place to start. A custom extension is for what a block builder cannot do: logic tied to your own data, pricing that follows the cart, or an interaction your brand needs that no template offers. We will tell you honestly which one your idea needs.
